Hamish and the Neverpeople Book Cover Hamish and the Neverpeople
Danny Wallace

The main character, Hamish, lives in Starkley, the fourth most boring place in England. He lives with his mum, not his dad because he’s always working.

Hamish and his friends try to stop Axel Scarmarsh and his helpers, The Terribles and Hyponobots , from zapping people.

Scarmarsh’s evil plan is to zap and control the King using his special satellites. To stop him, Hamish and his friends dress up as Terribles to climb the Post Office Tower.

Do they save the king?

Does Hamish’s dad come home?

I thoroughly enjoyed this book because it’s funny, full of adventure and it’s different to other children’s books. I recommend it to 8+ boys, although girls might enjoy it too. I give it 1 million stars!
